THERE have been many iconic characters who have taken Emmerdale by storm.

What happened to Sadie King in Emmerdale?

Sadie arrived in the Emmerdale village in 2004 as the wife of Jimmy King.

But the couple didn't last, and they headed for divorce.

Sadie was also involved in an infamous feud with Charity Dingle.

After her split from Jimmy, Sadie wanted to get revenge on the Kings after they left her with nothing.

She and Cain Dingle planned to kidnap Tom King but the plan backfired and Cain took £2 million from Tom whilst Sadie left the village with nothing.

Meanwhile, the kidnap episode received 37 complaints to media regulator Ofcom at the time.

ITV defended the storyline by saying it was one of the most "exciting and successful" events in the serial's history as 8.5 million viewers tuned in for the episode.

They added: "Whilst Emmerdale stories do not condone violent acts, it need not and should not shy away from them."

Where is Sadie King now?

After fleeing the Emmerdale village in 2006, Sadie was never seen again.

The last time viewers ever heard about her was in 2009.

This was when Cain returned to the Dales, and asked Jimmy: "Heard from your ex-wife recently?"

However, in May 2023, Emmerdale fans got themselves into a spin with a fan theory about Sadie.

It came about when they all thought Nicky Milligan's mother would be revealed to be the iconic character.

Sharing a theory in an Emmerdale forum, one Reddit user said: "So Caleb is the son of Faith Dingle and Frank Tate, his son is Nicky, whose mother we don't know yet. My suspicion is that Nicky's mother is Sadie King.

"Then maybe we can finally have that Kim vs Sadie showdown we were promised back in the early 00s. It'll also be a cool way to have Nicky be a Dingle, Tate and King."

Who played Sadie King?

Actress and singer Patsy Kensit played Sadie in Emmerdale between 2004 and 2006.

She even won the Best Bitch accolade for her portrayal of the iconic character at the Inside Soap Awards in 2006.

Patsy started her acting career as a child star at the age of four, and even joined the rock band, Eighth Wonder when she was just 14.

Her breakout role into mainstream acting was playing Suzette in the musical film Absolute Beginners in 1986.

She then went on to star in Lethal Weapon 2 in 1988.

After leaving Emmerdale, the actress appeared in plenty of high profile TV shows, including Casualty, Tina and Bobby, Agatha Raisin, and McDonald and Dodds.

In early 2023, Patsy returned to her soap roots and played tragic Lola Pearce's mum, Emma in EastEnders.
