Who is Nicky Milligan in Emmerdale?
Emmerdale‘s Nicky Milligan, played by Hartlepool actor Lewis Cope, first arrived in the Dales in 2022.
During his time in the village, the newcomer has experienced both romance and drama.
Nicky made his Dales debut when Gabby Thomas (Rosie Bentham) and Dawn Fletcher (Olivia Bromley) were in desperate need of a new nanny for their respective children.
Not only did he land a job, he was also lucky in love and soon embarked on a relationship with Gabby Thomas before proposing.
But a happily ever after was not on the cards for the couple and their romance eventually turned sour after Nicky’s lover Ally (Josh Horrocks) made a shock arrival – and that wasn’t the only soap secret uncovered.
Nicky’s was in fact Caleb Milligan‘s (Will Ash) son and the pair soon teamed up to take down Kim Tate and get their hands on her family fortune.
However, tired of living a lie and unwilling to go through with Caleb’s plan, Nicky came out to his father in the hope it would be enough for him to call it quits.
But a money-hungry Caleb refused and vowed to destroy Nicky if he ever jeopardised their plans.
Following a chaotic wedding day, Nicky was last seen outside Emmerdale as he spoke to Ally, ready for their life together.
However, things were once again not meant to be – with Ally leaving him heartbroken after learning of his intentions to go along with Caleb’s cunning plans.
After a short departure from the Dales, the former nanny returned on June 20, 2023, after his father was pushed off a ravine.
Do we know who is Nicky Milligan’s mum in Emmerdale?
In 2023, soap fans were left shocked after it was revealed that Nicky is the son of Caleb Milligan.
To top it all off, he was also Frank Tate‘s grandson as his father was the product of an affair between the late patriarch and Faith Dingle.
Earlier in the soap, Nicky and Gabby had initially bonded over having both lost parents, however, it was later confirmed that Nicky’s mum is still alive.
Despite the explosive family revelations, much to the frustration of fans, the identity of Nicky Milligan’s mum still remains a mystery.
Who do fans think is Nicky Milligan’s mum in Emmerdale?
Eagle-eyed Emmerdale fans believe they have sussed the identity of Nicky’s mum and are convinced iconic Sadie King (played by Patsy Kensit) is behind the mystery.
Sadie King appeared in the show from 2004 to 2006 and was married to Jimmy King.
The soap legend was also involved in an infamous feud with Charity Dingle.
Sharing a theory in an Emmerdale forum, one Reddit user said: “So Caleb is the son of Faith Dingle and Frank Tate, his son is Nicky, whose mother we don’t know yet. My suspicion is that Nicky’s mother is Sadie King.
“Then maybe we can finally have that Kim vs Sadie showdown we were promised back in the early 00s. It’ll also be a cool way to have Nicky be a Dingle, Tate and King.”
A second agreed, adding: ”I thought about Sadie King too which be interesting since she has a history with Cain also and people in the village too and imagine if she feuds with Kim Tate.
“And, since Patsy Kensit has recently had a role in EastEnders she [might] be down for a return to Emmerdale.
“Just like the actress who plays Kim Tate was on Corrie for a bit and then returned to Emmerdale. I got a feeling it got to be someone who has ties to the village.”
