Actor Steve Halliwell has been a prominent character in the ITV soap as the head of the Dingle family.
And while he may have been standing in the side-lines as members of his family perpetually bickered in recent months, Zack is thrown back into the spotlight next week.
The Dingles first have to face the possibility that one of their own may have pushed Caleb Milligan (portrayed by Will Ash) over a ravine in a shock murder attempt.
Cain Dingle (Jeff Hordley) is one of the main suspects as he made a promise to make his half-brother Caleb pay for making his wife Moira (Natalie J Robb) lose a fortune.
However, Mackenzie Boyd has also caught major attention as Caleb slept with his soon-to-be ex-wife Charity before he was pushed.
Coming up next week, Caleb remains in a coma while the police are looking for someone to blame for his near-fatal fall.
Chas (Lucy Pargeter) hears that he might be brought of his coma, prompting her to head tot he hospital where she finds her cousin Charity (Emma Atkins) at his bedside.
The pair argue about Mack’s potential guilt before an emotional Nicky Milligan (Lewis Cope) turns up to see his dad.
Later on at the Dingles’, Chas accuses her uncle Zak and Cain of hiding something but there’s more.
As mentioned above, 71-year-old Zak becomes a cause for concern when his health is clearly not what it used to be.
Chas and his youngest daughter Belle (Eden Taylor-Draper) worry about his mobility next week.
