Ellie Leach Declares She's "Doing It for the Girls"

Ellie Leach, the last woman standing on Strictly Come Dancing, has revealed the true reason why she and dance partner Vito Coppola have chosen to put their romance on hold before the show's final. The former Coronation Street star is set to compete for the prestigious Glitterball Trophy in Saturday's live final, alongside contestants Bobby Brazier and Layton Williams.

Leach, who is the favorite to win according to bookies, expressed her gratitude for making it this far in the competition, stating, "I'm doing it for the girls! The last woman standing! I just loved everything about this experience. I just feel really, really grateful to be here."

Show Dance with a Jennifer Lopez Megamix

For the final performance, Leach and Coppola will be showcasing a show dance to a Jennifer Lopez megamix, a combination of various dance styles. Coppola humorously described it as "a bit like minestrone." Reflecting on her journey in the competition, Leach admitted that she never anticipated reaching this point, expressing her initial nervousness and fear of the unknown.

"I've never had any dance experience. I actually cannot believe that we are in the final, and also how quick the time has gone," Leach said. "It feels like Christmas Eve every night, like you’re excited to wake up Christmas Day."

An Unbreakable Partnership

Despite rumors of a blossoming romance between Leach and Coppola, the dancer clarified that their focus has always been on the competition. He explained, "We have so many things to think about, you know, and choreography, and lift up and down, left, right, diagonal. And after we finish, we have the time to eat fast. We nap a little bit because we need to take the energy to continue. So we really are so focused on all this beautiful experience. We just had a very great connection, a 50/50 partnership since the beginning."

Leach echoed Coppola's sentiments, emphasizing the importance of trust and a strong partnership in their journey. "I think that, obviously, we've danced together for how many weeks now? It's been three months we've been together every single day. And you really have to have a strong partnership to be able to trust in each other," she said.

The Strictly Come Dancing final promises to be an exciting showdown between Leach, Brazier, and Williams as they compete for the coveted Glitterball Trophy.
