Forming a Band

Krishnan Guru-Murthy, the news presenter who recently exited Strictly, has announced his plans to form a band. Inspired by his son Jay's performance at Glastonbury with his group Askew, Guru-Murthy revealed his interest in getting a band back together.

A Musical Background

Guru-Murthy has a long-standing connection to music. In 2021, he received his first electric guitar back after lending it to a friend over 30 years ago. He also shared that he met his wife Lisa through their mutual friend Tim Hincks, who was an old bandmate of Guru-Murthy's.

A Passion for Music

While discussing his musical interests, Guru-Murthy mentioned that he and his wife play in a band together. However, he humorously added that they avoid discussing rock'n'roll in front of their wives, as they don't take them seriously.

Strictly Experience

Guru-Murthy was eliminated from Strictly two weeks ago, missing out on the opportunity to perform at the iconic Blackpool Ballroom. Reflecting on his time on the show, he expressed gratitude for the experience and how it has changed him as a person.
