Strictly Come Dancing contestant Nigel Harman found himself in the midst of a heated argument with his wife, Lucy Liemann, in front of stunned fans in Blackpool. The actor, who recently had to leave the show due to a medical condition, was reportedly unhappy with the scores he received from the judges a few weeks ago.

Row over scores

Nigel and his dance partner, Katya Jones, received a score of 31 out of 40 for their performance to Duke Ellington’s "It Don't Mean A Thing." Despite the relatively high score, the former EastEnders star was said to be displeased with it.

A source from the audience revealed to MailOnline: "Nigel was super pumped up for the show… but he was just in the zone, he ignored people saying hello to him. And it all kicked off when he got his scores from the judges. When the cameras stopped rolling, he stormed back to his seat and beckoned his wife over."

Tension escalates

The source continued: "You could tell she knew what was coming. She tried to pacify him but he didn’t work and he took his disappointment out on her. After he walked off, Katya then tried to console her. She was visibly upset."

Backstage mood swings

This incident comes after reports that crew members were relieved Nigel had left the competition, as they had been dealing with his backstage mood swings. The actor withdrew from the show just hours before the live quarter-finals due to a rib injury.

A source revealed: "Nigel wasn’t in training this morning, and other dancers were informed later on in the day. He and Katya were really disappointed as they were hoping to stay in the competition. They hadn’t been in the bottom two so had a real chance of making it to the finals."

Return for the grand final

Although Nigel had to leave the competition, he will be making a return for the grand final. A BBC spokesperson stated: "Unfortunately Nigel has sustained a rib injury which means he is unable to perform in tonight’s show and has had to withdraw from Strictly."

The spokesperson added: "Nigel will be well missed by those who have worked alongside him on the show and everyone wishes him the very best and looks forward to seeing him at the final on Saturday 16th December."
