Janette Manrara confirmed she would also be hosting his Tuesday show

The star usually presents the BBC2 programme on Mondays, Tuesdays and Fridays.

But Janette – who hosts on Wednesdays and Thursdays – told viewers she would be replacing him on Monday and Tuesday this week.

Opening the show, Janette said Strictly fans: “Your eyes are not deceiving you.

“Rylan has not shrunk it is me, Janette, and I am going to be with you all this week up until Thursday.”

There was no explanation given for Rylan’s absence, which sparked concern from fans online.

Posting a ‘crying’ emoji on Twitter, one asked: “Why isn’t @Rylan on #ItTakesTwo this week?”

Another chimed in: “Where’s Rylan?”

Tweeting him directly, a third wrote: “@Rylan Where are you?! #ItTakesTwo.”

Rylan has not updated fans on social media as to his whereabouts.

Janette was hired as Rylan’s co-host in 2021, taking over the job from broadcaster Zoe Ball after she stepped down.

The former Strictly Come Dancing professional was seen interviewing the show’s latest casualties, Ellie Taylor and Johannes Radebe, during Monday night’s instalment.

She also chatted to CBBC star Molly Rainford and her dance partner Carlos Gu, who have made it through to the quarter final.

At the end of the episode, Janette confirmed Rylan’s absence once again by saying: “I’ll be back tomorrow at the slightly earlier time of 6.15pm.”
