A Different Approach to Remakes
The Final Fantasy 7 remake trilogy is breaking the mold when it comes to game remakes. Rather than simply improving upon the original, Square Enix has decided to split the game into three parts, each with its own unique position.
Continuing the Story
Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth may not shake things up as much as you'd expect, but it takes a new angle on the original story to make a big difference. Instead of being a complete overhaul, Rebirth is more of a continuation of the same game.
Exploring the Open World
In the first game of the FF7 Remake trilogy, players were confined to the city of Midgar. But with Rebirth, players finally get the chance to explore the open world. However, it's important to note that the game is still quite linear until you trigger the next part of the main questline.
A Touch of Charm
Rebirth introduces some smaller stories with charm and personality that make it unique from the original game. These emotional story beats have been carefully held back to ensure that the second entry doesn't fall flat.
Unchanged Combat with New Additions
The combat system in Rebirth remains mostly unchanged, with a hybrid of real-time and ATB combat. However, there are new combo attacks where two characters can team up to deal massive damage.
