Fortnite fans, get ready for some Halloween fun! The popular game has gone offline to prepare for its annual Halloween event, Fortnitemares 2023. This year, the event features a crossover with the iconic movie "The Nightmare Before Christmas."
New Spooky-Themed Items
Fortnitemares 2023 brings a plethora of spooky-themed items to the game, including old favorites and new skins. Players will encounter a new boss, Kado Thorn, on the island. To take on this formidable foe, a new weapon called the Wood Stake Shotgun has been introduced. It deals additional damage to vampires, and when defeated, vampires will drop another new weapon, the Vampiric Blade. Additionally, the Pumpkin Launcher and Witch Broom have made a comeback, offering players eerie ways to battle.
Boosts and Rewards
To enhance the Halloween experience, Sanguine Sweets are available all over the map, providing players with an extra boost. Moreover, players can compete in 25 new quests until November 3rd to earn three sets of rewards. These rewards include back blings, banners, emotes, contrails, sprays, gliders, loading screens, and lobby tracks.
- Complete 5 quests – Bat Royale back bling and Cat banner icon
- Complete 15 quests – Sweet! Emote, Phantasmic Fall contrail, and Hypno-Bat Spray
- Complete 25 quests – Revenant Rider glider, Within the Sanctum loading screen, and Rise of the Revenant lobby track
Additionally, Horde Rush mode is available until November 3rd, offering players a chance to grab three different rewards by completing quests:
- Complete 1 quest – The Mur wrap
- Complete 4 quests – Heart-O-Lantern emoticon
- Complete 7 quests – Batwing Bonespiker pickaxe
New and Returning Skins
Aside from the rewards, Fortnite fans can also purchase new and returning skins in the item shop. The returning outfits include Seth, Bogstick, Phantom Meowscles, and Festival Phaedra. Excitingly, there are three new crossover skins available:
- Jack Skellington from The Nightmare Before Christmas
- Michael Myers from Friday the 13th
- Alan Wake from the Alan Wake games
