Gamers go wild for cheap must-buy Xbox expansion – it’s a total game changer

XBOX Series S is the most affordable console for gamers, but the storage is somewhat lacking.

If you have a large library of games, it can be frustrating to delete each game in order to make space for your next purchase.

Xbox’s memory cards are pop in and play.

However, Xbox decided to use proprietary memory expansion, much like the old PlayStation memory cards.

This means that they are a lot more expensive than the usual expansion storage often.

The first expansion cards were released with the Xbox Series X|S three years ago.

They were originally priced at $219.99 (£199.99) for 1TB of extra storage, which is almost the same price as the cheaper Series S consoles.

Since then 512GB and 2TB cards have been released, but they are still far more expensive than standard storage expansions.

As the PS5 works with any expansion, it’s a lot cheaper for its users to upgrade.

However, it is a lot more difficult to install and requires a bit of tech know-how.

While the Xbox memory cards are easy to slot in and use, the high prices still deterred a lot of gamers from using them.

However, a listing was spotted for a new Xbox memory card which costs just $179.99 (£145).

This is a saving of around 20%, or the price of a new game to play on your upgraded console.

Even with this reduction, it is still far cheaper to purchase standard memory expansions, which cost around $80 to $100 (£65 to £80).

Still, it is a welcome addition for Xbox fans, who have waited a long time for a more affordable memory expansion solution.
