Grand Theft Auto 6 DLC roadmap potentially leaked

ROCKSTAR announced in February that it was working on the next game in the Grand Theft Auto series though few official announcements have been made beyond that.

Still, fans have been eager to get their hands on a new GTA game, as the last new release GTA 5 first came out in 2013.

There is still no official information about GTA 6.

Rockstar said: “We are pleased to confirm that active development for the next entry in the Grand Theft Auto series is well underway.

“We look forward to sharing more as soon as we are ready, so please stay tuned to the Rockstar Newswire for official details.”

It appears the studio is not ready quite yet, but leaks have given us some idea of what the new game could be like.

The biggest leak so far was included in a report saying that a new story would centre around a duo based on Bonnie and Clyde.

This led to fears by some fans worried the series would tone down some of the controversial humour the series is known for.

Another key rumour is that the world of GTA 6 will “expand over time”.

Some believe that the new game will make a return to one of GTA’s most popular locations, Vice City, and then add new boroughs or even cities from other games over time.

According to one user on the GTAForums, who has got information surrounding GTA games right in the past, DLC will be planned before GTA 6’s release.

Rockstar changed the way it develops GTA games after the huge success of GTA Online.

Instead of releasing new games frequently, it concentrates on supporting GTA 5 and Online into the future.

They believe the “new cities and missions” will be part of DLC which will be planned before release.

Their post also claims that the additions will be smaller areas like Cayo Perico or North Yankton

This is rumoured to be so the team can introduce new GTA Online heists at the same time.

For now these are only rumours, and we won’t find out more until Rockstar is “ready”.
