Nintendo is known for its extensive collection of party games, and now it's about to release a new addition to the Mario series. WarioWare: Move It is set to launch this week for the Nintendo Switch, and we've had the chance to test it out.

A Physical and Motion-Controlled Game

Unlike traditional button-pressing party games, WarioWare: Move It relies heavily on motion controls. This game is a direct sequel to WarioWare Smooth Moves, which was released for the Nintendo Wii. To fully enjoy the game, you're even encouraged to stand up while playing. However, this can be challenging for those with creaky knees or limited space.

A Demand for Space and Ideal Conditions

Playing WarioWare: Move It requires ample space for movement. You'll need enough room to stretch your arms out and spin in a circle. Additionally, if you want to play with multiple players, each player will need a pair of JoyCons and wrist straps. Finding the ideal environment to play this game can be tricky.

Silly and Satisfying Microgames

Once you understand what each microgame requires, WarioWare: Move It can be great fun. The microgames are silly but satisfying, as long as you know what actions to perform. However, some microgames can be confusing and frustrating at first. It's a mixed experience that can go from excitement to annoyance.

Best Enjoyed in Multiplayer Sessions

While the single-player experience may be hit or miss, WarioWare: Move It truly shines in multiplayer sessions with friends. Pulling out this game during parties for kids or gatherings with adult friends can create a sensation. It's not the type of game to play alone for hours on end.

Overall Score: 3/5
