Simple Mistake Could be Wasting Your Precious PlayStation Storage

If you're a PS5 owner, there's a trick you'll want to know to make sure you're not squandering your precious storage. This genius trick was shared in a Reddit thread on the PS5 subreddit and has caught the attention of many users.

Disable Recordings to Save Space

One user discovered that there's an option to disable recordings after unlocking a trophy. This user found that there was around 100MB of space used by the recordings, which adds up every time a trophy is unlocked. Other users chimed in, realizing they had unknowingly accumulated several gigs of trophy recordings. To prevent this from happening, simply go to Settings, select Captures and Broadcasts, and then choose Auto-Captures. Under the Video Clips subheading, change the setting to None or select Platinum to only save the best moments.

Manually Delete Old Clips

Although turning off the recording feature will prevent new clips from being saved, you'll still have old trophy clips taking up space on your console. To free up even more space, you'll need to go into your media and manually delete these old clips.

Consider Deleting Astro's Playroom

If you've already played Astro's Playroom or have no interest in the game, consider deleting it to free up a significant amount of space. This game is installed by default on every PS5 and takes up 10.98GB. By deleting it, you can make room for other games or downloadable content. Don't worry, you can always reinstall it for free if you change your mind.

By following these simple tricks, you can maximize your PS5 storage and ensure you have enough space for all your favorite games and content.
