In fact, if Need for Speed Unbound was not stealth released this month it would be unrivaled.
The seventh entry was a triumphant return for the series which lay dormant since the PS3.
When paired with the amazing hardware inside the PS5 controller, it’s one of the most realistic and enjoyable driving experiences out there.

Sifu is a game for those who like fighting games, but want something that isn’t afraid to stray from the norm.
It’s intensely challenging, but that means that it is also endlessly satisfying to play.
Every strike, block, dodge and ultimately death feels important, especially as your character ages with each take down.
This reduces your health, but increases your damage, making your strategy different the more you play.

2016’s Salt and Sanctuary let us know what Dark Souls would be like if it was 2D.
Salt and Sacrifice gives you more of this, with new combat options and mechanics to uncover.

Despite being in the unfortunate position of releasing one week before Elden Ring, Horizon Forbidden West is still very much worth your time.
It’s bigger, better, and prettier than Zero Dawn in almost every way.
Playing just a few hours will let you understand the power of the PS5 and everything it can offer over the competition.

In Stray you play as a cat. I don’t know if you need more information than that to know it’s one of the best games of the year.
While it’s just your regular puzzle platformer, the whole concept is changed by playing as a furry friend.
It’s all the little things that make this game work, from the futuristic setting, to the way you have to use your claws to open doors.
Everything about this is heartwarming. Just make sure you hang on to your nine lives.

We know the reputation that 3D Sonic games have had in the past, but Sonic Frontiers is the best 3D Sonic game.
While that might sound like you’re picking out the best turd from the pile, Frontiers takes the series to an open world for the first time.
Endless ramps and platforms scattered around the world, make traversal so much more fun.
And each little challenge you find will keep you hooked in for just a few more hours.

Midnight Suns is easily the best Marvel game ever made — sorry Marvel Snap — and brings a whole new way to play with your favourite heroes.
It’s a strategy game that is both deep and challenging, that finds a way to showcase each hero’s unique skills.
Characters both on and off the field have purpose, and you can mix and match your teams to your heart’s content.
And after a hard day’s work, you can go back to the church and kick back with your new friends.

Whether you believe that The Last of Us needed a remake or not, it still remains the Citizen Kane of games.
If you, or someone you know, still hasn’t played it, the latest version is the best way to experience it for the first time.
The sequel was controversial, with people either loving or hating it, but Part 1 has received universal acclaim.
It’s prettier than ever before, with stunning upgrades that give it a boost over the last few generations.

The best PS5 exclusive game is without a doubt God of War Ragnarök. There isn’t really any competition.
