GTA 5 and other popular titles to be taken off Xbox Game Pass

Xbox players are expressing their anger and disappointment as Xbox announces the removal of several games from its library. One game, in particular, with a remarkable 97 rating, has left players feeling especially hurt.

Alongside the 97-rated game, Xbox is also removing an 89-rated game and a 93-rated game from its Game Pass and Game Pass Ultimate libraries. Players will have until January 15, 2024, to enjoy these games before they are taken off the platform.

GTA 5 makes a swift exit from Game Pass

The first major title to be removed from Xbox's platform is the highly popular GTA 5, a game that has achieved incredible success and is considered one of the best-selling games of all time. Surprisingly, GTA 5 will be leaving Xbox Game Pass on January 5, ahead of the other games on the list.

Speculation suggests that the recent release of the first trailer for GTA 6 by Rockstar in December 2023 has generated significant hype for the Grand Theft Auto series. In response, PlayStation announced that GTA 5 would be added to its subscription service, PS Plus, on December 19. This move is likely a contributing factor to the removal of GTA 5 from the Xbox Game Pass library, as it competes with Xbox's subscription service.

Persona 4 Golden and Persona 3 Portable

Another highly-rated game, Persona 4 Golden, with a rating of 93, is also being removed from Xbox's subscription service. This game, which received a re-release early last year, is considered one of the most popular games in the series. Originally exclusive to the PlayStation Vita, Persona 4 Golden is now available on multiple platforms.

Persona 3 Portable, which was re-released at the same time as Persona 4 Golden, is also set to be taken off Xbox's subscription service. Both games combine dungeon crawling elements with high school simulators, where players can build relationships with others to battle together.
