SHANE Richie has been defended by his eldest son after the star was viciously trolled for his ‘b****y’ comments on I’m A Celebrity.
It comes after the former EastEnders actor, 56, awkwardly clashed with AJ Pritchard over washing up during last night’s show.
During the episode, Shane was also spotted “gossiping” about fellow soap star Jessica Plummer.
Following the Busktucker Trial, Shane was certain Jess would be chosen again because of her performance.
Speaking to Vernon Kay, he said: “I say this every year I watch it. Why would you come and do it? You know what’s going to happen.”
The actor later added: “Yeah tomorrow night, 100 per cent Jess.”
Fans were very much on AJ and Jess’ sides as they rushed to Twitter to call out the star for his “b****y” comments.
One wrote: “Shane Richie is so b****y!!! #ImACeleb.”
Another said: “Shane Richie? More like Shane B****Y, amiright?”
While a third added: “I can’t believe so many people thought Shane Richie was actually a nice guy.”
The remarks didn’t go unnoticed by Shane’s eldest son, who was quick to defend his famous dad.
Taking to Twitter, Shane Jnr wrote: “Yes that’s right folks, my dads human and isn’t a cheeky chappy 24/7.
“Christ some of the comments on here making him looking like the devil. Sad b******s #ImACeleb.”
Earlier this month, HOAR revealed Shane Jnr was considering changing his name back after the soap star prepared to enter I’m A Celebrity.
The 31-year-old used his dad’s surname but changed it to Nolan in 2017 when his mum, Loose Women star Coleen, took part in Celebrity Big Brother.
A pal told us: “Shane Jnr is hugely supportive of his mum and his dad and will do anything to publicly show his love for them.
“When Coleen was in Celebrity Big Brother he stopped using Richie and is now known as Shane Nolan. He did this to support her and to show her how much he cared and respected her.
“It was really sweet and meant so much. After his mates found out his dad Shane was heading to Wales for I’m A Celeb they joked about whether he would change it back to Richie and he’d said he would think about it.”
