SHE’S the queen of daytime telly who was last week revealed to be raking in £30,000-a-week as Britain’s highest paid female presenter.
And now, Holly Willoughby has topped another list – as new research crowns her TV’s ‘highest Instagram earner’ during the Covid pandemic.
Researchers from Buzz Bingo analysed which popular UK presenters have been netting a fortune through sponsored Instagram posts since March.
They looked at the potential earnings per post for each TV star – based on their massive followings – and how many adverts they’ve been sharing.
Mum-of-three Holly, 39, ranked in first place – after making a potential £244,000 from just 14 sponsored posts on the platform over eight months.
With a whopping 6.9million followers, the star – who has promoted the likes of M&S and Garnier – can reportedly command up to £17,400 per post.
Any income from Instagram will add to Holly’s already hefty bank balance, with the latest accounts for her company Roxy Media Ltd showing she’s got earnings of nearly £1.5million in 2019 and 2020 – or £30,000 a week.
TV favourites Katie Piper, Amanda Holden and Holly’s This Morning co-host Phillip Schofield were also found to be among the presenters raking in more than an estimated £50,000 from Instagram ads during lockdown.
Here, we reveal the stars who made the top five list – and those who just missed out:
1) Holly Willoughby
Instagram followers: 6.9m
Potential earnings per post: £17.4k
Total potential earnings: £244k
As the darling of daytime telly, Holly has enjoyed another phenomenal year in front of the cameras, presenting ITV’s This Morning and Dancing on Ice.
And thanks to her fame, the star – who reportedly earns £600,000 a year for her This Morning work – has been able to net lucrative partnership deals.
Her Instagram posts include adverts for Marks & Spencer, Garnier and Dunelm – with whom she boasts her own stylish bedding collection.
Even Holly’s kids have got involved in her brand deals – by taking gorgeous pictures of their mum modelling M&S clothes while quarantining.
Though researchers found Holly had shared 14 sponsored posts on the social media platform from March to November, she’s uploaded at least two more in recent weeks – only adding to her estimated £10million net worth.
2) Katie Piper
Instagram followers: 989k
Potential earnings per post: £3.7k
Total potential earnings: £107k
She was the victim of a 2008 acid attack that left her permanently scarred and blinded her in one eye – yet Katie hasn’t let it define her life.
The inspirational mum-of-two has become one of Britain’s best-known models and TV hosts, with nearly 1million followers on Instagram.
Thanks to her huge fan base, the star – an advocate for diversity and inclusion – is said to be able to command up to £3,700 per sponsored post.
This means, during the Covid crisis, she could have netted at least £107,000 from paid partnerships – with more recent posts adding to this amount.
Among Katie’s Instagram adverts are pictures of her modelling her Rose Leopard Print baby products, including a stroller, for the firm My Babiie
The Strictly Come Dancing star has also posted ads for Spotlight Oral Care, Katie Loxton, Cadbury and Pantene, as well as posing on the side of a giant bathtub in a one-piece to promote tanning products by Vita Liberata.
3) Mark Wright
Instagram followers: 1.7m
Potential earnings per post: £4.5k
Total potential earnings: £58k
The only way is fame and fortune for Mark Wright.
The TOWIE star and his actress wife Michelle Keegan have become one of TV’s richest young couples, with an estimated wealth of £7.3million.
And Mark ranks third on the telly ‘Insta earners’ list, which was put together using data from Influencer Marketing Hub’s calculator.
During the pandemic, he has advertised both Matalan and Candy Crush All Stars, the “UK’s first tournament to crown the best player around”.
He also frequently promotes his own fitness empire, Train Wright, on his Instagram profile, where he’s amassed a following of 1.7million.
4) Phillip Schofield
Instagram followers: 3.2m
Potential earnings per post: £8k
Total potential earnings: £56k
It’s the Christmas advert that’s captured the hearts of the nation.
And last month, This Morning host Phillip took to Instagram to help advertise John Lewis and Waitrose’s Give A Little Love charity campaign.
The 58-year-old father wrote: “2020 has been a difficult year to say the least, that’s why a little act of kindness can mean more than ever.”
Phillip has also previously advertised wine that he’s producing with the “little English company” When In Rome Wine, proudly telling his followers: “As a team we’re paving the way in sustainable wine production.”
And in September, he shared an ad for the Craft Gin Club.
Like co-star Holly, Phillip is reported to be worth around £10million.
5) Amanda Holden
Instagram followers: 1.6m
Potential earnings per post: £4k
Total potential earnings: £53k
She’s become known for her fashion sense both on and off the stage.
Britain’s Got Talent judge Amanda Holden – who has donned a string of daring dresses on the show – is a style icon for people across the UK.
She even launched her own collection with fashion brand Fenn Wright Manson last August, which was followed by another collection this June.
But it seems she also knows a thing or two about home accessories.
In recent months, she’s shared adverts for her BundleBerry range of elegant trunks, featuring images of her posing beside the gorgeous items.
“These trunks really remind me of a 1950s Audrey Hepburn movie!” Amanda, 49, told her 1.6million Instagram followers last month.
The actress has also posted videos of M&S Christmas food – with research suggesting she could have raked in at least £53,000 from ads since March.
