STRICTLY champion Rose Ayling-Ellis is unidentifiable in a music video with a chart-topping boyband.

EastEnders actress Rose, 27, became the first deaf contestant to win Strictly Come Dancing.

Rose and Giovanni were crowned winners of the 2021 series of the BBC show

However, Rose was dazzling on our screens way before then as she appeared in a music video with British pop rock band The Vamps back in 2017.

Rose featured in the music video for Middle of the Night as someone’s girlfriend with some of the lyrics communicated through sign language.

The video received heaps of praise for bringing awareness to the deaf community in the video and was released during Deaf Awareness Week.

Rose also had a love of acting which was sparked by attending a performance course run by the National Deaf Children’s Society.

She landed her first role in the BBC miniseries Summer of Rockets.

Rose dedicated her couple’s choice routine to the deaf community, after the memorable moment of silence in the middle of her dance.

Giovanni discussed the impact of the performance and said, “it was such a big moment, it would be weird for us not to do it again”.

He told It Takes Two presenter Rylan Clark: “Obviously the silent moment was so powerful, and because this got so much attention.

“Rose keeps saying the dance changed her life and lots of people’s lives, so it’s just fair to do it again and I think it’s the right thing to do.”

To which the soap star added: “It changed my life, yeah”.

She wanted to give onlookers a sense of what it was like to live in a world where you could hear nothing.
