WAYWARD teen Kelly Neelan has lost both of her parents in a matter of days and fights to cope.
Next week in Coronation Street, she finds a way to deal with her grief by rekindling with her old addictions.
Laura Neelan (played by returning actress Kel Allen) loses her battle with terminal cancer and her daughter Kelly (Millie Gibson) is beside herself.
Prior to losing her mother, however, Kelly also found out that her father, Rick, had been found dead.
Coming up, Kelly is overwhelmed with grief as she tries to come to terms with her mother’s death.
She soon discovers she stands to inherit everything from her father, which includes the family home.

She asks Gary Windass (Mikey North) to check on the neglected house for her.
While there, Gary spots a photo of a smiling Rick and packs up some of Kelly’s belongings.
But the pressure is too much to handle for Kelly.
As she’s surrounded by reminders of her childhood, she’s overcome with emotion and rushes out of Victoria Court.
Alone in Victoria Garden, Kelly is numb with misery but she has what she believes could help her out of her bad spirits.
Kelly takes out her mother’s morphine bottle and unscrews the top – just as Abi Webster (Sally Carman) arrives.
Could Abi – another Weatherfield resident who has struggled with a drugs relapse – convince her to turn away from her demons?
Both have been at odds with one another in recent months and Kelly already faced a relapse when she couldn’t cope with Abi’s anger.
Kelly was blamed when Abi’s son, Seb, died after a brutal attack on him and his then-girlfriend Nina Lucas, and she was wrongly imprisoned.
This led to Abi making her grief known through anger and she even lashed out as Kelly when the teen left flowers in Seb’s memorial garden in 2021.
Kelly was also seen turning to drugs as she dealt with life on the streets and sleeping rough.
However, all this appeared to stop when Kelly was welcomed into Gary and Maria’s (Samia Longchambon) home in Victoria Court.
The couple have been acting as parents for Kelly.
