The ITV star, 49, said she was told by production to keep “early autumn” free for filming after the coronavirus pandemic forced them to postponed their live shows for the current series.

Holden confirmed Britain’s Got Talent will return to screens this year during the coronavirus pandemic

However, the broadcaster insisted that she, production nor her fellow judges Alesha Dixon, David Walliams and Simon Cowell would ever do series without a studio audience.

Speaking to HuffPost UK, she said: “All of the main judges have been given a date to hold in early autumn to see if it works live.

“But we would never do it without an audience because we’ve always said the British public is the fifth judge.

“So we can’t do it without them – it would be no fun without them! We’ll see what happens, but we are planning to do it this year.”

The Heart Breakfast praised fellow judge Simon, 60, about getting the current series on-air amidst the COVID-19 pandemic

The Heart Breakfast praised fellow judge Simon, 60, about getting the current BGT series on-air amidst the COVID-19 pandemic, despite the live shows being delayed.

She continued: “Simon has fought very hard for it to be on now, in its normal slot, and it celebrates Britain at its best.

“All our eccentricities, our nuttiness, and being able to laugh at ourselves is how we get through everything – we’ve got to still find the light in the dark.”

Filming for the 14th series began on Saturday 11 January at The Palladium in London and wrapped on February 10 in Manchester venue The Lowry.

HOAR Online previously confirmed in March that Britain’s Got Talent had postponed its live shows due to the health crisis.

The spread of Covid-19 forced show bosses to act as the virus continues to wreak havoc on the entertainment industry.

A source explained: “They have no idea when the live shows will take place as it depends on government guidelines and advice. ”

“At the moment they would like them to happen in September, but that will entirely depend on how quickly things are back to normal.”
