Broadcaster Adele narrowly missed out in the ITV show final

Kate, who has dated Adele for more than 17, posted a gushing Instagram tribute to show her pride

Fan-favourite Adele narrowly missed out on the Ice Queen trophy – with former soap star Ryan Thomas pipping her to the post and taking the iconic Dancing On Ice title.

The Coronation Street alumni also beat Miles Nazaire, 28, in the nail biting final after Olympian Greg Rutherford, 37, was forced to pull out hours before the live show – yet fans were quick to call a “fix” as the result of Adele’s loss played out.

Shortly after Adele’s final stint on the series her other-half Kate was quick to post a romantic tribute.

The actor and presenter took to Instagram to upload a slushy snap showing the pair embracing, with her planting a kiss on the side of Adele’s head.

Kate then posted an equally emotional caption which read: “TORVILL & QUEEEEEEN! What a night, what a few MONTHS!!!! @adeleroberts…just when I think you’ve blown my mind to its maximum…you take it to another level!!

“Watching you & @markhanretty every week skating and dancing and performing like you’re at the Super Bowl… just WOW!

“For someone who gets embarrassed just having Happy Birthday sung to her because you feel weird with people looking at you….LOOK WHAT YOU’VE DONE!!! I’m so proud of you my love.

“Thank you for giving us such joy, hope & strength on ice. And THANK YOU to every single person who has been supporting, voting & sending such lovely messages!

“It’s meant the world to know there’s been a whole squad of lovely people watching and cheering Adele on along with me every week and thank you to @dancingonice for bringing such amazing awareness to ostomates & those living with cancer, that’s the trophy right there!”

Earlier this year, Kate shared another sweet tribute to Adele after the star tragically revealed that her mother had passed away.

Last year, the cute couple celebrated their 19th anniversary.

In an Instagram post in 2021 Kate wrote: ‘’Happy anniversary my love 17 years & I still want to be with you every second.’’

The long-term couple live together and moved into a new flat in September 2023.

Meanwhile, taking to her Instagram ahead of Adele’s surgery to tackle bowel cancer, Kate shared that there had been “lots of tears” and “sleepless nights.”

Yet she described fighting the cancer battle as a “team effort.”

Adele previously told how early detection of her stage two bowel cancer saved her life.

Previously, fans revealed the real reason they were convinced Ryan would win.

Prior to the show final, they claimed he had the advantage of the support of a slew of loyal soap fans.

One mused: “Getting the Corrie fans vote, he should have gone weeks ago when he fell over.”

Back in Musicals Week, Ryan suffered a painful fall as he smashed onto the ice.

Weatherfield’s Jason Grimshaw also was forced to apologise after dropping partner Amani Fancy the week prior.

Last night, Ryan thanked Aman for getting him to the series finale.

The TV star said: “I’m speechless!”

He continued: “I just can’t, it’s Amani, I’m happy for her because she’s put so much hard work in with me.”
