DANCING on Ice fans have demanded a shake-up after spotting one celebrity has been paired with a “guaranteed finalist”.

One viewer lashed out at the dazzling pro, who always seems to reach the final: “I hope she gets put with a proper old geezer to skate with next year”.

Dancing on Ice made its return last week with half of the class of 2024 taking to the rink, showcasing their skating skills for judges Jayne Torvill, Christopher Dean, Oti Mabuse, and Ashley Banjo.

Despite his efforts, Ricky Hatton landed at the bottom of the leader board, setting the stage for this week’s skate-off.

This Sunday, radio DJ Adele Roberts, ski jumper Eddie ‘the Eagle’ Edwards, comedian Lou Sanders, Made in Chelsea’s Miles Nazaire, and EastEnders star Ricky Norwood took the spotlight to impress the judges.

When they were finished, comedian Lou found herself in the skate off against boxer Ricky.

The two celebrities took to the ice one more time with their pro partners before the judges made their decision.

Ricky danced to If I Can Dream by Elvis Presley while Lou performed again to Try by Pink.

In the end, the ice panel decided to save Lou and send Ricky and his pro partner Robin Johnstone home.

But many watching at home were reminded of the professional dancer who has rarely been in the bottom two.

One viewer moaned: “Vanessa getting the winner again what a shock”.

Another said: “Why does Vanessa always get younger guys that can skate every year? It’s like the show want her to win every year? When is she gona get an older person to skate with?”

A third said: “Really need to know what dirt Vanessa has on this show for to keep getting these young fit men and never an older male with no performance or dance background.”

And a fourth said: “Is it time to bring out ‘Vanessa has done Bolero more times than Torvill and Dean’ joke”.

Vanessa and reality TV star Miles skated to Hard to Handle by The Black Crowes and landed 26 points.

Vanessa has reached the final six times.

Since her debut on the series the German dancer has won the show with Jake Quickenden and has been rumoured to date various other partners

Dancing On Ice airs Sundays on ITV1 and is available on ITVX.
