DANCING on Ice was thrown into chaos after cast and crew were evacuated ‘half-dressed’.

The hit skating competition, which airs on ITV1 each Sunday night, faced an emergency.

Just hours before the show was about to broadcast live the fire alarms sounded.

Oti Mabuse‘s hairdresser caused the fire alert which resulted in the cast and crew being evacuated.

The incident left the team “panicked” while some stars who were in hair and makeup at the time were forced outside half-dressed.

Professional skater Matt Evers revealed: “Oti’s hairdresser accidentally set the fire alarms off the other Sunday –  an hour before the show was due to start!

“We were all panicking, people were in hair and make-up, half-dressed.”

Thankfully the situation was declared safe and the show made it on air with Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield presenting.

Matt added: “We found out later it was because Oti’s hair straighteners were smoking.

“But as you saw, it all got resolved in time.”

The revelation comes after one contestant suffered a nasty fall last weekend.

Creative director Dan Whiston has told how RuPaul’s Drag Race star The Vivienne still managed to skate even after a shoulder injury.

Speaking exclusively to HOAR, Dan said: “The Vivienne astounded the audience this week when they made a brave decision to perform out of drag for the first time in their career.

“As if that wasn’t nerve wracking enough they had an injury to their shoulder just hours before the show went live.

“They downplayed what happened, but I know they were in a lot of pain and still managed to deliver a show-stopping performance!”
