Dancing On Ice legend forced to undergo surgery after shock injury

DANCING On Ice judge Jayne Torvill has revealed that she has injured her arm and will need surgery.

The legendry ice skating champion, 65, announced that she had injured her bicep tendon in her arm and in order to get it fixed she will now need to undergo surgery.

She told Philip Schofield: “I’ve ruptured my bicep tendon so I need to get surgery.”

Assuring fans, she added: “I’ll be fine and we will be back on the ice soon.”

Taking to Twitter, viewers were quick to reveal their shock and support.

One fan said: “Poor Jayne I do hope she gets better soon.”

Another wrote: “Hope Jayne Torvill gets well soon from her injury. Amazing that Torvill and Dean still ice skate together this many years on from when they were doing the Olympics.”

And a third added: “Love Jayne’s sling is matching her gown #dancingonice.”

But this is not the first time Jayne has injured herself. In 2019, she revealed that was set to arrange surgery on her spine due to a cyst.

She said in an interview: “When it’s bad, it’s bad. Touch wood, at the moment it’s under control. But surgery is in my future.”

And she told The sun: “I’ve still got loads of injuries. They don’t go away, you just live with them. If I was a racehorse I’d be mincemeat by now.”
