DANCING on Ice viewers were left furious tonight as Holly Willoughby failed to reveal why Caprice Bourret has left the show.
Holly and co-host Phillip Schofield kicked off the Fairytales on Ice show special by telling fans she would not be skating again – but with no explanation as to why.
She said: “We wanted to let you know that unfortunately Caprice will not be taking any further part in the series and sadly Libby won’t be skating tonight because she is unwell but she’ll be back next week.
“We send them both our best wishes.”
Caprice, 48, confirmed shes quit in an emotional statement today, revealing shes quit for her mental health after a huge bust up with her original skating partner Hamish Gaman.
The Sun revealed Caprice’s friends said she was “disgusted” over the “bullying” she had suffered since joining Dancing On Ice.
But viewers weren’t happy that Dancing on Ice’s presenters weren’t honest about her exit.
One said: “So Caprice gone no explanation and another celeb gets a bye to next round #DancingOnIce”
Another fumed: “Well that was the most vague and pathetic explanation ever… the way #dancingonice have handled this entire caprice situation is just appalling, my respect for this show really has plummeted this past few weeks.”
Someone else said: “What a cop out still no explanation.. #DancingOnIce.”
Caprice parted ways with Hamish in the second week of theITV skating competitionand was partnered with Swiss figure skater Oscar Peters.
The Sun previously revealed that Caprice felt like she had been a victim of a bullying campaign on the ITV series, which the channel denied at the time.
However following the news of her exit from show, friends close to the star told The Sun Online that she stands by her claims and is planning on taking legal action.
A pal said: “The only issue Caprice had with Hamish is that she thought he was bullying her.
“She thinks others saw what was going on but no one is willing to speak out about.”
They continued: “Caprice feels like she has been abandoned by ITV, who haven’t offered her any aftercare following the fallout.
“She feels utterly bullied and has been left distraught by everyone speaking out to support Hamish, while she has been branded a lazy diva.
“Caprice won’t let this go and she already plans to talk to her lawyers to see what the next step is for her.”
Caprice’s team announced she had quit last night, saying: Its true that Caprice is no longer participating in Dancing On Ice. Its been a hard few months and shes had to keep silent for contractual reasons.
Her mental wellbeing has been affected over the last two months and recent stories leaked to the press are not only salacious but extremely hurtful.
Now shes taking some time to recover and look after herself and her family.
