American figure skater Johnny Weir will take Ashley’s place

Ashley, 35, has been a familiar face to Dancing On Ice fans since he took up his post in 2018.

Yet because of his pre-existing commitments to his dance troupe Diversity, this year things will be a little different.

The group’s epic UK tour – which is their biggest yet – will mean Ashley is away up until the semi final.

Host Stephen Mulhern, 46, broke the news, before his co-presenter Holly Willoughby, 42, said two-time Olympian Johnny Weir, 39, would be “jetting in all the way from America to keep Ashley’s seat warm.

Johnny is an American figure skater and a 2008 World Bronze Medallist.

He is also a three-time US National champion, and will take his place alongside Torvil and Dean and Oti Mabuse.

The judging change came before host Holly revealed another huge show switch up.

The ITV anchor – who wowed in a sleeveless yellow dress – told how there will be a double elimination next week.

teased: “I can give you a bit of a clue about something that is going to happen.

“Because as we all know next week is Musicals Week right?

“But what you don’t know is that actually next week there is going to be a double elimination.”

olly continued: “We are going to lose two of our skating couples.

“Which I imagine amplifies the pressure somewhat does it?”
