GREG Rutherford shared an update on his health, saying he still feels “very poorly” following his Dancing On Ice accident.

The 37-year-old, who was paired with Vanessa James in the ITV show, had to pull out of the final earlier this month due to suffering an injury during rehearsals.

Greg shared a photo on Instagram showing a completed Lego set, captioning it: “Today I also achieved this,” alongside a grinning face emoji.

He added: “Nothing better than Lego when feeling poorly.”

The star has been on the road to recovery for over two weeks now.

He recently told fans he’s making progress after being rushed to hospital following the shock injury.

Greg took a photo outside in the sun and told fans: “I’m up, showered and have a t-shirt on for the first time since surgery, progress.”

The retired athlete has also revealed what actually happened – explaining he slid through the legs of Brendyn Hatfield and Colin Grafton and tore his abdominal muscles.

Before heading into surgery, Greg said: “I’ve been a bit busy and obviously just recovering from the initial injury before I have the surgery that I hadn’t actually got round to talking about it.

“Long story short, I leapt through the legs of Brendyn and Colin and managed to tear all of my abs as well as herniate.

“So I effectively gave myself a C-section.”

Greg’s pro partner, Vanessa James, withdrew from the competition following his injury.

She said: “Unfortunately Greg has sustained a significant injury this morning at rehearsals and won’t be able to perform tonight.

At the time, she explained: “We are on our way to the hospital for Greg to get examined further and receive the treatment he needs.”

A spokesman for the ITV show added: “Sadly Olympian Greg Rutherford MBE has had to withdraw from Dancing On Ice after sustaining an injury whilst in rehearsals for the final episode of the current series.

“Greg and Vanessa have been such a popular couple this series and have performed some truly memorable routines.

“We will be helping to support Greg and wish him well with his recovery.”

Coronation Street’s Ryan Thomas won the competition this year.
