HOLLY Willoughby made her first public appearance in months as she hosted a glamorous charity gala last night.

The Dancing On Ice host, who took an extended break from screens last year after police foiled a plot to kidnap her, looked to be having a ball at the Great Ormond Street Hospital gala dinner.

The TV star wowed in a black dress with a sparkly trim

The 42-year-old wore a stunning black dress with sheer sides as she roamed the floor with a walking mic.

Reflecting on the night, Holly wrote on Instagram: “What a wonderful evening and a complete honour to be hosting the Love GOSH gala dinner for Great Ormond Street Hospital @greatormondst Thank you to everyone who came and dug deep to raise an ENORMOUS amount of money to go towards a new state-of-the-art Children’s Cancer Centre at GOSH.

“Always grateful for my lovely date @patsyoneillmakeup and really enjoyed meeting Gareth who spoke so honestly about his daughter Sienna’s treatment for leukaemia… heart is full special mention to Charlie Ross the auctioneer and @rebecca_ferguson and @feelinginsta who lit up the dance floor.”

Friends and fans loved seeing Holly in her element.

Her former This Morning co-star Dermot O’Leary said: “Well done xx.”

A fan wrote: “Well done Holly. You are and always will be a great host.”

Another said: “You look so happy. I’m glad. You deserve all the happiness.”

Last month we revealed Holly has been invited to Hollywood by TV bosses to discuss a presenting career in the States.

She will meet with brand bigwigs including Disney+ later this year.

Holly is already rumoured to have landed a role hosting a jungle-based TV show with adventurer Bear Grylls for US streaming giant Netflix.

An insider said: “Holly’s a free agent and for the first time in years she’s free to be courted by these huge streaming platforms.

“A number of US networks and production companies have been interested in her for a while and she’s caught the attention of some major brands.

“She has true star pulling power and as well as being glamorous is a polished professional in front of the camera. It’s an exciting time.”

It comes after she quit daytime show This Morning in October amid news of an alleged plot to kidnap and murder her.

Holly returned to telly on ITV’s Dancing on Ice this month.

Her strategy to pursue projects in the US is partly aimed at boosting interest in her lifestyle brand, Wylde Moon.

Her venture has been compared to that of Hollywood actress Gwyneth Paltrow’s Goop.

The source added: “Holly has made it no secret that she is following the Gwyneth Paltrow brand model.

“Launching herself  Stateside could make those dreams a reality.”
