DANCING On Ice star Mark Hanretty has spoken out in an emotional video about trolling his co-stars have received – and pledged for people to “just be kind”.

The 38-year-old, who has been skating with Adele Roberts, 44, as part of this year’s series of the ITV show, took to social media to share his concerns.

Mark Hanretty opened up about the trolling his female co-stars have received while on the show

Amber Davies has had some cruel comments after winning the skate off last night

In the clip girl dad Mark defends the women taking part in this year’s Dancing On Ice, and pleads with people to help make a change and stop online bullying, and in particular towards women.

Mark said in the lengthy video: “I cannot quite comprehend that we still live n a world where the just be kind philosophy hasn’t taken over.

“I am gobsmacked that there can be so much vitriol online and it really troubles me and saddens me that it particularly seems against women…

“I have a six year old gorgeous daughter who I adore beyond comprehension and it pains me and saddens me that she might go into a world where she will suffer nasty comments online like I see my friend’s receive and that really troubles me.

“How can we go on a world now where there should be more accountability for nastiness done online.”

He ended with: “Let’s eradicate online nastiness because it serves no place and benefits no one.”

Mark captioned the post: “Feeling passionately committed this morning to promoting kindness online.

“Feeling sad and troubled that nastiness on social media is so prevalent.

“Concerned that this could affect my family or anyone I know and eager to do whatever tiny thing I could do to eradicate trolling or keyboard warriors.

“Just be kind!

“Wishing everyone a happy Monday and a great week ahead.”

Amber Davies, 27, reposted the video on her Instagram story with the caption: “THIS IS SO IMPORTANT.”

Last night saw Eddie the Eagle get sent home in an intense skate off against Amber.

Some viewers took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to share their disappointment – and even labelled the competition a ‘fix’ because Eddie’s dance was more technical than her’s.

Eddie performed to Elton John‘s Rocket Man, while Love Island‘s Amber danced a dramatic performance to Little Mix‘s Power.

Other fans complained that the results were “rigged” to get Amber into the final.

One wrote on the social media platform: “Every week Amber has been picked up for not skating alone.

“In that skate off it was 1 second if that!!

“How did she get through FFS! Fixed? Do they know the final line up they want already?”

Another person posted: “Dancing On Ice ridiculous Eddie skates by himself Amber gets guided around the ice so fixed.”

A third commented: “Dancing On Ice…what is the point of this, when it is so blatantly fixed.

Other women on the show have had negativity thrown their way, including pro skater Vanessa Bauer.

The skater commented on Marks’s post: “So true thank you on behalf of all of us and the little ones entering this online world for your courage to speak out like that we love you ❤.”

Mark’s skate partner Adele also got the highest score of the series last night and was slammed by some fans.

One wrote on X: “Adele’s score and Amber being saved shows the best way to compete this year is to cling to your partner and let them do all the work #DancingOnIce Eddie was robbed.”

“Judges slated Amber last week for not skating on her own much, Adele’s just done exactly the same & gets highest score of the series, absolute fix,” another said.

Mark scored an incredible 39 points with Adele Roberts last night
