I’M A Celeb fans were up in arms last night after Boy George turned on Scarlette Douglas in the Bush Telegraph.

The pop icon admitted he was offended when TV presenter Scarlette casually asked him: “What happened with you and some guy in handcuffs and a radiator?”

George had earlier tried to grill MP Matt Hancock on his political views – but Scarlette shut down the conversation

The remark took him off guard and further fuelled his irritation after Scarlette had shut down a conversation between him and MP Matt Hancock – with George wanting to grill Matt on political views.

Scarlette later brought up George’s criminal past in front of Matt and claimed she hadn’t known that he had spent time in prison.

In 2008, Boy George, whose real name is George Alan O’Dowd, was convicted of assault and false imprisonment.

A flustered Boy George quickly replied: “That’s not true. I didn’t beat him. If I had I wouldn’t still be working today.”

Speaking in the Bush Telegraph, Boy George later said: “Scarlette blatantly talked about my court case.

“I thought it was inappropriate what she did, actually. I thought she shouldn’t have said what she said to me.

“And I thought I handled it really well as it’s a big sore point for me when people say things like that.”

But viewers said it wasn’t fair of him to keep his past a secret when Matt and Seann Walsh, who cheated on his girlfriend during Strictly, had been quizzed on their controversial history.

One moaned: “Boy George thinking Scarlette asking him about the court case was inappropriate..your behaviour towards Matt has been awful. Hypocrite.”

A second remarked: “It’s ok for him to continuously hassle Matt Hancock at his leisure but when he’s put on the spot by Scarlette he gets all diva on us”.

Others disagreed and one said: “Everyone ignoring the tactless way Scarlette asked Boy George about his past. Everyone ignoring that he still talked about it – the fact he turned his life around after serving time. But he’s “bullying” Matt ‘Pivot’ Hancock?”

George and Scarlette had previously been on good terms after they both agreed Charlene White was “a bossy boots.”

Millions were subjected to Matt’s lockdown rules during the Covid pandemic which he then broke while having an affair with his colleague and university pal Gina Coladangelo.

Before his sleaze scandal the former Health Secretary was accused of failing to call for lockdon in time which resulted in thousands more deaths from Covid.

Astonishing private WhatsApp messages leaked by sacked No10 aide Dominic Cummings at the time showed Boris had branded Matt “totally f***ing hopeless” in the darkest days of March 2020.

Spending watchdogs criticised Matt’s multi-million pound contracts for PPE that failed to materialise.

He was also found to have committed a “minor breach” of the ministerial rule book after failing to declare his 20 per cent stake in his sister’s company that was awarded a Covid contract.
