Marvin Humes becomes the sixth campmate to be evicted

Marvin Humes was sent packing from the I’m A Celebrity jungle tonight, with just two days to go before the final. He is now the sixth campmate to be evicted from this series, following Danielle Harold’s departure last night.

Marvin reflects on his time in the jungle

“Chatting to Ant and Dec as he left camp, he seemed at peace with leaving two days before the final. Marvin said: ‘Seeing Rochelle in camp yesterday was the most amazing feeling ever, so to leave today was just perfect.’ He called the programme ‘the best show on TV’ and added ‘I can’t believe I have come this far’ after managing 22 days in the jungle. Marvin said he has ‘conquered a fear’ doing the sky diving and that his ten year-old daughter Alaia-Mai would be ‘so proud’ of him. He also revealed plans to have Sam Thompson perform with his band JLS when they tour in 2024. ‘I’ve told Sam he has to come and do something with me and the boys next year,’ he explained, adding that he was thrilled to hear from wife Rochelle that Everybody In Love had shot back up the charts. ‘This experience will stay with me forever guys,’ he said, tearing up. Asked who he wanted to win, Marvin hesitated before saying: ‘Tony or Sam.’

Danielle Harold’s departure and her thoughts on the ‘food gate’ row

The previous night, Danielle got her marching orders during Thursday evening (December 7) show, where she wasted no time telling Ant and Dec exactly whose side she was on during the infamous ‘food gate’ row. Viewers had been gripped as Fred Sirieix found himself putting heads in camp earlier in the week, as he struggled with not being the chef. When Josie Gibson was in charge of the camp’s food, the pair clashed, but Danielle made it clear her alliance was with her fellow female. Asked who was the better chef between Josie and Fred, she took a swipe at the French man, saying: ‘I am going to go with Josie. I prefer the home cooking.’ Danielle followed in the grand tradition of all the other stars who had been eliminated earlier in the week by picking Sam Thompson as her winner. ‘He’s like my little brother,’ she beamed.

A week of farewells in the jungle

It’s been a busy week of farewells in camp, with a star being booted every night since Sunday. Frankie Detorri was first out the door, with many blaming his early exit on a lack of airtime. Talking to HOAR the day after leaving camp, he shared his thoughts on potentially getting a raw deal in the edit. He said: ‘Speaking to my wife, she said I had very little airtime. ‘I thought I’d done a lot, but it depends how it is edited to the programme. But you know what? I had lots of fun and jokes, banter, laughter. Of course winning would have been nice, but it’s not the important thing. The important thing for me, it was the experience.’ Frankie’s exit was followed by influencer Nella Rose, who was second out on Monday night. Appearing live on Wednesday’s This Morning, Nella candidly addressed her clash with Fred on the series, saying: ‘Everything in the jungle everything is intensified.’ She told how the First Dates star’s comments had been triggering – but insisted the pair were still pals. ‘It is a big, fat misunderstanding – we have got over it.’ She added: ‘I understand, it’s TV, it’s live.’ Fred soon followed Nella out, leaving the following evening. And he wasted no time hitting back at claims he bullied campmate Josie, insisting: ‘I am not sexist and I am not mean.’ He added: ‘In hindsight, I should have just let her get on with it. I should have just sat back. I think she is a lovely girl.’ The fourth campmate to be eliminated, meanwhile, was Nick Pickard, who joined the evictees on Thursday night. He has now reunited with his girlfriend, Sarah Corrin, who enjoyed a string of nights on the town with Sam’s best mate Pete Wicks. Nick joked how he confronted Pete after he learnt of their friendship. Speaking to Fleur East on Hits Radio Breakfast Show, Nick said: ‘She thinks she’s a celebrity now. The first thing I said to Pete was ‘have you been running off with my bird you cheeky b****r?!’ Luckily I know him and obviously through meeting Sam I know what a lovely bloke he is so it’s all fine!’
