I’m A Celebrity contestant Danielle Harold faced a major health scare during her time in the jungle, which nearly led her to quit the show. The former EastEnders actress, 31, battled a debilitating infection and feared she would have to be hospitalized. Despite losing nearly a stone in weight, her struggle remained hidden from viewers as it was not shown on screen.

Refusing to Give Up

Danielle Harold, who stands at 5ft 3in and weighs 8½st, was determined to stay in the competition despite feeling wiped out and unwell. She shared with a friend, “I hadn’t gone all that way for it to end like that.” Even though fellow campmates Grace Dent and Jamie Lynn Spears left the show on medical grounds, Danielle chose to continue.

A Silent Battle

According to insiders, Danielle fell ill at the start of the show and developed a severe infection. Despite her illness, she kept a positive attitude, smiling and doing her best in camp. She didn’t want to let down her fellow campmates, family, or friends. The infection was kept under control with regular visits to the camp doctor, but Danielle was very unwell for a few days and lost nearly a stone in weight.

During her 19 days in the jungle, Danielle skydived into camp and participated in various trials. She formed friendships with Made In Chelsea’s Sam Thompson and This Morning host Josie Gibson. Despite her health struggles, she impressed everyone with her determination and resilience.

Looking Ahead

After her exit from the show, Danielle hinted at the challenges she faced during her time in the jungle. She acknowledged the difficult conditions and lack of food but maintained a positive outlook. Danielle, who has always wanted to act, is now excited to explore different roles and has already received numerous offers for acting work and deals.

It was not just Danielle who faced health issues in the jungle. Fred Sirieix developed a foot infection due to heavy rain, while Nick Pickard and Marvin Humes suffered from skin conditions.
