I’m A Celebrity presenter Declan Donnelly has revealed that he sustained a serious injury during a Bushtucker Trial. The ITV personality shared that he required six months of physiotherapy to recover from a shoulder injury.

A difficult memory resurfaces
The trial holds difficult memories for Donnelly, who disclosed during a live social media broadcast last year that he sustained the injury over a decade ago. He described the extensive setup required for the trial and jokingly mentioned that he ended up in physiotherapy for six months as a result.
A fun but painful experience
Donnelly’s injury occurred when he and his presenting partner, Ant McPartlin, completed the Celebrity Cyclone challenge as part of the Text Santa charity initiative in 2011. Despite the injury, Donnelly mentioned that it was a great and fun experience.
Preparing for the 2020 series
In anticipation of the 2020 series of I’m A Celebrity, which took place in Wales, Donnelly and McPartlin subjected themselves to a few trials. These included the ‘catch a falling star’ trial, during which Donnelly caught one star while being immersed in slime with bugs.
