Before purchasing a 180-acre forest to build her dream home, Jamie Lynn Spears lived in a noisy lorry park for three years. An unusual financing deal
The site of Jamie Lynn’s new home has been financed with an unusual deal that allows them to borrow up to $50 million. Jamie’s main business is a trucking firm called Fluker Transportation LLC in Hammond, Louisiana. He set up the business on a site just off the busy US-51 Highway, which was later sold to another of his firms. The site, full of smelly and noisy industries, appears to be only for commercial use.
Living arrangements and noise complaints
A lawsuit filed in 2018 revealed that Jamie Lynn, Jamie, and their two daughters had been living on the commercial site and had even built a house. The noise from the surrounding businesses, including the cleaning and delivery of portable toilets, prompted complaints from neighbors. The lawsuit sought damages for the loss of enjoyment of their property due to noise and smell, as well as devaluation of their homes and emotional stress. Jamie argued that the area’s commercial operations and proximity to the interstate would naturally result in noise.
Settlement and move to the forest
The lawsuit was eventually settled in February 2019, with noise restrictions being put in place. In March 2020, Jamie Lynn and Jamie purchased a vast plot of 180 acres of forest land to build their dream home. They obtained a mortgage for $397,800, with the option to increase it to a maximum of $50 million. The forest is located near Fluker, where they have been constructing their rural hideaway.
Clues about the construction
Despite being careful about sharing details online, Jamie Lynn and Jamie left clues about their construction project. They posted photos of cleared out trees, a digger cleaning the woods, and stepdaughter Maddie in a bulldozer preparing the house site. In May 2022, Jamie Lynn posted a photo of her mother-in-law inside the half-built house.

Currently participating in “I’m A Celebrity,” Jamie Lynn appears to be enjoying her time in the jungle more after initially experiencing homesickness and considering quitting. She recently made headlines when she accidentally kissed Made In Chelsea star Sam Thompson during a celebration. Her sister Britney has reportedly installed a VPN to watch Jamie Lynn on the show.
