MATT Hancock is doing whatever it takes to win over viewers on I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here – even taking part in his own jungle shower moment.

After completing his first trial on the jungle series with fellow new arrival Seann Walsh, Matt quickly stripped off to scrub off the gunge he’d been doused with.

But in his red swimming trunks, the former health secretary sat down in a nearby lake rather than pulling an Owen Warner and having a moment in the iconic waterfall.

His unique way of bathing left Seann a little speechless, at one point realising he was staring at the MP before walking away.

Viewers were not impressed though, with it going down as well as his appearance in camp with his new campmates.

“We do NOT need shower shots of Matt Hancock thanks ITV,” wrote one.

“I didn’t even consider the Matt Hancock shower scene until just now,” said another.

“A Matt Hancock shower scene is something I never wanted or needed in my life,” said a third.

Matt had one hell of a first day in the camp, tripping up before even entering before singing Ed Sheeran to a baffled Seann Walsh and only earning six stars in his first trial.

Once he got into camp the atmosphere was frosty at best, with Boy George even threatening to walk as a result of his arrival.

It was a sentiment that was quickly supported by Corrie’s Sue Cleaver who admitted several of the campmates were finding Hancock’s presence difficult to stomach.

Charlene White was quick to corner Hancock and question why he was even there, particularly as Parliament was in session and he had a job as an MP to do.

Her quick-fire line of questioning had Hancock somewhat buckled, and was praised by viewers as she failed to buy his reasoning as “wanting to show the human side to him”.

He now stands to become the most voted for campmate ever when it comes to bushtucker trials, following viewer outcry at his presence on the show.

At the end of tonight’s episode, it was confirmed Matt was up for the latest trial, something he said he “had a feeling he was going to do”.

Better start getting used to it, Matt – considering he’s been paid £400,000, it seems ITV are planning on getting their money’s worth.

I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here airs weekdays at 9pm on ITV.
