MATT Hancock’s girlfriend Gina has broken her silence on his I’m A Celebrity appearance.
The lobbyist revealed the advice she gave her other half before going into the jungle.
Speaking on The Coming Out show, which airs on Thursday, Gina said: “I think it’s fair to say that Matt underestimated the scale of the reaction to him coming into the jungle.
“He’s made of tough stuff, this summer we trekked around Mont Blanc together in 4 days.
“My last words to him were just be yourself, be the Matt I know and it’ll go really well.”
Gina made the 10,000 mile trip to Oz to greet MP Matt when he exited the jungle as a shock finalist.
Matt‘s inclusion in the line-up was controversial with many thinking he should not have been allowed to take part as a serving politician.
Matt, 44, who has three children, had the Tory whip removed after accepting the £400,000 deal from ITV to appear in the jungle.
A body language expert said he was like a loved-up teenager with Gina as they kissed and cuddled in view of the cameras.
He’s now believed to be on a flight back to the UK now to get back to work for his constituents.

Flying home without her other half, Gina, 45, was looked after by series winner Jill and her partner Shelly.

“But we’re all human and we all put ourselves in it.”
He added: “I just went in absolutely clear that I was going to be totally myself as if there cameras weren’t on and that’s what I did.
“And that is what I’m like in private!”
