LOVE Island’s most stomach-churning challenge has been axed and will never return to the ITV show.

Creative Director Mike Spencer tells HOAR that the game – which saw cast transfer liquid by spitting it into each other’s mouths – won’t be back for series ten.

This year’s lineup of Love Island won’t be subjected to spitting in each others’ mouths

Toby Aromolaran from last year’s show ended up covering Chloe Burrows in spit

However, the show will see new challenges when it returns this Monday, 5 June.

Speaking to HOAR at the Love Island villa, Mike said: “I think we’ll leave it – I do miss it a little bit, but we decided to get rid of it. We’ll keep that not happening.”

In 2022 the game – called Lip Service – saw islanders transferring cocktail ingredients between their mouths in an effort to win the race.

But viewers were horrified – saying it made them feel sick and threatening to complain to Ofcom.

One person wrote: “We need to report this challenge to ofcom #LoveIsland.”

A second commented: “Why do they keep bringing back this game? It’s not even a joke. Where can I submit an OFCOM complaint? #loveisland.”

While a third said: “Time to call Ofcom over these nasty food and drink spitting challenges. they’re not erotic or kinky. they’re DISGUSTING! #LoveIsland.”

“They allowed Davide to do mouth to mouth with Gemma? Do they want ofcom complaints #LoveIsland,” added a fourth.

Love Island returns Monday 5 June at 9pm on ITV2 and ITVX

The challenge where all the islanders had to pass drinks in their mouth was called ‘the most disgusting’ of the whole show
