LOVE Islands Michael Griffiths has said that girlfriend Ellie Brown is The One after meeting on Ex On The Beach.
The Sun Online revealed the pair had got together last year after filming the MTV reality show and now the 28-year-old has opened up their relationship admitting he is well and truly smitten.
He told us: Ellie and I did form a good bond on the show. The relationship we built was unbelievable.
To have someone as amazing as her in my life means so much. I’m head over heels and I’m not letting her go.
Discussing how romance blossomed on the show, which kicks off tonight, he said: Initially I just opened up to her because we were both from up north, she was a friendly face and I guess we have a lot in common both being on Love Island. She instantly felt like home.
But then it grew into a lot more. She helped me open up and believe in myself a lot more.
Michael who was known as a villain during this time on the show continued: She is such a beautiful genuine girl who I think is amazing. I can’t fault anything about her. We just clicked. I didn’t feel like she wanted anything from me it was just natural.
We are in the same boat so it instantly felt like we were equals in the relationship. I can tell her anything an know it won’t go no further. We trust each other completely. I would give her my phone to look through no worries.
Things are going so well between them that they have already met each others family.
The match almost didnt happen though because Michael was reluctant about doing another dating show after Love Island and he wasnt sure how he would come across.
Michael famously dumped Amber Gill on Love Island last summer and coupled up with Joanna Chimonides.
But when she was voted out of the villa he didnt go with her and then later tried to get back with Amber who rejected him for Greg.
I was really hesitant about signing up to be honest, he admitted.
I didn’t know if I was going to be painted out as the villain again or whether I would be able to change peoples perceptions of me.
I couldn’t make up my mind at first but in the end I really wanted to show viewers I wasn’t the villain I’d be painted out to be. It was more motivation to show people that was me.
He added: The show has definitely been great for me. Whatever happens I know I’ve found someone special I’m not letting go of.
Ellie hooked up with Charlie Brake on the 2018 version of the ITV2 dating show before splitting in a bitter break up months later.
