Sammy made a comment at lunch that caused the argument

Abi explained: “At lunch we’re not allowed to sit together so we’d get separated and then he was talking to the boys and made a comment about his type.

“He said it was petite and brunette and Jess got really upset and it did cause an argument but it all had to get resolved and squashed.”

Abi continued to tell Cosmopolitan UK: “It had to get squashed before we resumed again because obviously they were getting on fine before lunch.

“So after lunch it would’ve just been like ‘what’s been going on.’”

Sammy and Jess, both 22, were the surprise winners of the 2023 series, pipping favourites Whitney Adebayo and Lochan Nowacki.

Molly Marsh and Zachariah Noble came in fourth place, while Tyrique Hyde and Ella Thomas landed in third.

They all took to their respective Instagram accounts earlier this week, as they jetted back to the UK after competing on the ITV2 programme.

The show winners cosied up before checking in, with Jess looking incredible in a blue short mini dress.

Sammy opted for a black tracksuit and flashed a huge smile.

Love Island fans grew concerned about Sammy and Jess’ future after watching their romantic declarations in the final.

Worried viewers spotted a huge clue that his feelings might not be genuine as he failed to give her any eye-contact, despite gushing about their romance.

Others felt that Jess appeared to be rather disinterested and fear she has “switched” off.

Discussing their relationship, a fan wrote: “Sammy is not even making eye contact with Jess while he talks about his wondering eye.”

Another tweeted: “No eye contact with Sammy.”

As someone else commented: “Jess defo can’t stand sammy anymore. She just looks tired of him.”
