ALDI is making a big change to online Specialbuys and shoppers will be furious.

The budget supermarket chain is closing its online delivery service on Monday, July 10, it’s confirmed to HOAR.

Aldi is closing its online delivery service in July

It comes after we previously revealed that Aldi would pull the plug on its online delivery operation.

The move means that customers will no longer be able to buy cheap wine cases or order Specialbuys to their door.

It comes more than eight years after it first started selling wine cases in 2015, as a way to attract more customers.

Shoppers often queue online to snap up Specialbuy bargains, including its heated clothes airer and popular Kevin the Carrot toys.

Its recent huge sales growth has meant the discounter has decided it no longer needs the costs or distractions of an online business.

A statement on Aldi’s website has already warned shoppers about the change, but it gave no specific date of when the change was expected to happen.

Right now, it reads: “Soon Aldi will no longer sell Specialbuys for home delivery.

“While we understand this is disappointing, right now Aldi is more committed than ever to delivering everyday low prices across the entire Aldi range, when our customers need it most.

“But do not worry! You’ll still be able to shop our amazing range of Specialbuys in-store, with new delights landing every Thursday and Sunday and now with almost 1,000 stores across the UK, we’ll be ready to welcome you with open arms (and more middle-aisle magic!).

“Thank you for your support during this transition.”

Customers have already reacted negatively to the move on Facebook.

One shopper said in response to the statement: “They never have enough stock of the Specialbuys for the footfall they have.”

Another said: “They will soon change their minds when they arent getting the footfall.

“They are screwing themselves over before they’ve even made the change!”

“Yet again… another shop helping the housebound and disabled… not,” said a third shopper.

An Aldi spokesperson said: “As the UK’s cheapest supermarket we are always looking for ways to keep prices low for our customers.

“We have therefore taken the decision to end our Wine and Specialbuys online home delivery services on July 10.

“Customers can shop the full range of amazing Wines and Specialbuys at their nearest store or use our grocery click and collect service which is available in around 200 stores nationwide.”

How can I save money on my Aldi shop?

If you’re an Aldi regular, you’ll want to employ a few money-saving tips to slash your bill.

Of course, the discount grocer is famous for its middle aisle, where shoppers can pick up everything from garden furniture and gym equipment to kitchen appliances and clothes.

To get the best bargains, you need to know when the Specialbuy items will be on sale.

You can find new stock in Aldi’s middle aisle on Thursdays and Sundays, so you’ll get your pick of the products if you head to the store then.

But every two weeks, Aldi also picks six of its favourites to offer shoppers fruit and veg at low prices.

The prices don’t change over the two weeks that the offer is live so really you can cash in at any time – though what’s on offer will change every fortnight.

But if you want to be sure to get the best of the bunch, then heading to the store at the start of the week to pick the freshest items won’t hurt.

Yellow stickers are the key to a successful shop for most customers, and Aldi has its own version of labelled bargains too.

Aldi shoppers should look out for red stickers on products instead.

Workers usually put them on to show something is reduced, either because the packaging is damaged or it’s about to go out of date.

You can often save up to 75% off products marked up in this way in Aldi, so it’s worth keeping an eye out in the store.

And remember, it’s always worth writing a list before heading out to your nearest branch.

That way you’ll be less inclined to make any rash purchases which could see costs rack up.
