Expanding to Tackle Food Waste and Offer Affordable Options
Greggs, the bakery giant, is set to open six new outlet stores in the UK, aiming to have a total of 50 stores by the end of 2025. These outlet stores, which sell unsold products at discounted prices, are part of Greggs' initiative to combat food waste and provide budget-friendly options for customers.
Popular Items at Discounted Prices
Customers can find popular items like sausage rolls, sandwiches, and pastries at the outlet stores, with prices up to 75% cheaper than regular stores. The current outlet locations include Newcastle, Leeds, Birmingham, Cardiff, Glasgow, and London.
Future Expansion Plans
In addition to the outlet stores, Greggs plans to open 160 new branches in the next year and extend evening opening hours in select stores. The bakery chain's goal is to offer affordable and convenient food options nationwide, with a commitment to expansion and accessibility.
