A man who entered an online prize draw for years almost missed out on winning an £87k Audi and £20k in cash. James Brodhurst, 53, a tech salesman from Newport, Wales, won the state-of-the-art e-tron GT and the cash prize through the competition firm BOTB. Despite being an electric car, the Audi e-tron GT boasts a top speed of 155mph and can go from 0-60mph in just 3.3 seconds.

A Shocking Win

James had been routinely entering the draw but couldn't remember what prize he had played for. It came as a surprise when he received a video call informing him that he had won the Audi and cash. James, who now lives in Spain, expressed his excitement, saying, "I’ve been playing for years and obviously you always hope one day you will win. To finally do so, feels fantastic."

An Impressive Electric Future

As a fan of electric cars, James is thrilled with his win. He believes that electric cars are the future and describes the e-tron GT as "really impressive." The Dream Car competition was held by the giveaway website BOTB, where tickets for the draw range from 90p to £5.60.

Congratulations to James

James is the 702nd winner of the competition and BOTB presenter Christian Williams congratulated him on his stunning prize. Williams described the Audi e-tron GT as an awesome car that drives like a go-kart and is a great piece of technology. He added, "They have a lot of horsepower but I am sure James will be able to handle it."

Electric Cars and Road Trips

While James is excited about his electric car win, not everyone shares the same enthusiasm. An EV driver recently criticized electric cars for taking the fun out of road trips. However, manufacturers continue to innovate, with designs for a car that astronauts could use to drive on the Moon being unveiled.
