DID you know your receipts can save you cash?
I am a bit of a hoarder with mine but it pays to make use of them.
You can save money, earn vouchers and even win prizes . . .
ONE TO HOG: Receipt Hog gives you tokens for uploading pics of your receipts.
If you have spent less than £10, you earn five coins, £10 to £50 gets you ten coins, £50 to £100 is 15 coins and £100-plus is 20 coins.
Once you have earned 1,000 coins, you can swap them to spend on PayPal or get Amazon vouchers. Easy.
MAC A MEAL OF IT: Pick up a Big Mac and fries at McDonald’s for just £1 by stacking the Eat Out To Help Out discount with a separate discount available via an old receipt.
A Big Mac and fries would normally set you back £4.28 together, so this is a great saving.
To get the first discount, you need an old McDonald’s receipt. Any time you buy food or drink at a McDonald’s, you will receive a unique 12-digit code to enter on its Food For Thought website.
After completing the survey, you will be given a five-digit code you need to write on the original receipt.
Hand that over when you place your order on your next McDonald’s trip to pay the reduced price — £1.99 before the Eat Out To Help Out discount.
STORE SAVINGS: I am also a big fan of HuYu. The app lets you upload receipts from supermarkets and take surveys to earn stars.
When you reach 500, you earn £5. Snapping a pic of your receipt takes just seconds via the app, making it super-easy to save extra dosh if you keep up the habit.
SHOP IT: Get involved with Morrisons’ Taste Of Holidays competition.
There is a £500 holiday voucher (valid in 2021) to be won every two weeks (three in total). To enter, all you need is a receipt from a purchase at Morrisons.
Just find your unique 16-digit code on the receipt or your order number on your online receipt, and use that to enter via morrisons.com/tasteofholidays.
