Wilko Stores Making a Comeback
Exact dates for the reopening of new Wilko stores have been unveiled, and the comeback is sooner than expected. After announcing the closure of all its shops, Wilko is now launching new stores across England, Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland.
Upcoming Store Openings
The two newest stores in St Albans (The Maltings) and Rotherham (Parkgate Shopping Park) will open on Good Friday, 29th March 2024, at 9 am. These stores are set to offer shoppers a range of home and garden essentials.
Expansion Plans
Wilko's next store location will be in Poole, Dorset, with work expected to start soon at the Dolphin Centre site. Following successful concept store launches in Plymouth, Exeter, and Luton, Wilko aims to be "bigger and better" than before, with features like next day delivery and flexible payment terms reinstated.
CEO's Statement
CEO of Wilko, Alex Simpkin, expressed excitement about the positive reception to the new concept stores. The company is in talks with landlords for more store openings and is prioritizing ex-Wilko employees in the recruitment process.
Brand Revival
Wilko faced closure in September 2023 due to financial challenges but was acquired by The Range in a £5 million deal, ensuring the brand's continuity. Customers expressed joy on social media platforms like Instagram and Twitter upon learning about the brand's revival and online presence.
