Branch Closure
Supermarket chain Lidl has announced that it will be closing its store on Kentish Town Road next month. The branch, which has been operating for a decade, will shut its doors on February 11. Lidl cited that the store is no longer fit for purpose as the reason for the closure.
Plans for Reopening
Despite the closure, Lidl has assured customers that it has plans to acquire an alternative site nearby and reopen in the future. In the meantime, residents of Kentish Town can visit Lidl's stores on Tottenham Court Road and Holloway Road.

This closure follows Lidl's recent announcement that it will also be shutting its store in Paignton, Devon after 25 years. Despite these closures, Lidl has revealed plans to open hundreds of new locations across the UK in the coming years. The supermarket chain aims to have 1,100 stores by the end of 2025, potentially creating 4,000 new jobs.
