The results are in – the UK's most budget-friendly supermarket for a weekly shop in March has been unveiled, and it's not the usual suspects of Lidl or Asda. Consumer group Which? conducted a comparison of prices on 71 items from eight different supermarkets last month.

Aldi Takes the Crown Yet Again

Aldi has once again proven to be the go-to spot for getting the most value for your money, coming in at a staggering £37.36 cheaper than Waitrose, which claimed the title of the most expensive supermarket on the list. Additionally, Aldi was £24.23 less expensive than Morrisons and £22.42 cheaper than Sainsbury’s.

Big Savings for Shoppers

By opting for Aldi over the pricier options, shoppers could save over £37 on their weekly grocery bill. The list of 71 items included both branded and own-brand products such as Dolmio pasta sauce, Heinz baked beans, Hovis bread, milk, and butter.

Julie Ashfield, managing director of buying at Aldi UK, expressed pride in the supermarket's consistent position as the UK's most affordable option. She highlighted Aldi's dedication to cutting prices and supporting customers in the face of rising food costs.
