Over £1 Million Lost to Fraudsters

More than 600 Lloyds customers have fallen victim to scams related to Taylor Swift's Era Tour dates, resulting in potential losses exceeding £1 million, according to a warning from the bank.

Scammers Targeting Fans Through Social Media

Many fans are being deceived by fraudulent advertisements, social media posts, and listings offering fake tickets. After paying upfront for tickets that never materialize, the scammers disappear.

Protect Yourself from Fraud

The average amount lost by victims between July 2023 and March 2024 was £332, with some individuals losing over £1,000. Lloyds, which includes Halifax and Bank of Scotland, estimates that there have been 3,000 victims across the UK, resulting in a total loss of £1 million.

Tips from Lloyds Bank

Liz Ziegler from Lloyds advised fans to use official ticket platforms, be cautious of deals that seem "too good to be true," and opt to pay with a debit or credit card for added protection against fraud.

Previous Scams Targeting Music Fans

Last summer, fans of Coldplay, Beyonce, and Harry Styles were also targeted by scammers, with an average loss of £133 per victim.
