What happened?

A Green Party candidate for local elections had a gruesome encounter while posting campaign leaflets. Danica Priest had a finger bitten off by a dog as she was pushing a flyer through a letterbox in Bristol.

The aftermath

The dog's attack led to the tip of Danica's finger being severed, which was later found on the doormat by the homeowner. Despite efforts to save the finger, surgeons deemed it impossible to reattach.

Danica's response

Reflecting on the incident, Danica shared, "It's definitely a good warning for other leafletters and dog owners." She is currently on painkillers and may undergo reconstructive surgery.

Thanking supporters

Despite the ordeal, Danica expressed gratitude for the support she received, stating, "Thanks for all the kind words everyone, I really appreciate it. The painkillers are working well but the bleeding hasn’t stopped yet so I’m still very bloody."
