Charges filed

Authorities have charged two Greenpeace protesters with criminal damage following a demonstration at the residence of Rishi Sunak.

Protest details

During the protest in North Yorkshire last August, Mathieu Soete, Amy Rugg-Easey, and Alexandra Wilson sat on the Prime Minister's roof in red suits and helmets while he was away on vacation in California with his family.

Legal action

Rosemary Ainslie, the head of the CPS Special Crime Division, confirmed that the three individuals will each face a single count of criminal damage and are scheduled to appear at York Magistrates' Court on March 21.

Legal reminder

The Crown Prosecution Service emphasized the importance of avoiding any reporting, commentary, or sharing of information online that could potentially prejudice the ongoing legal proceedings and reiterated the defendants' right to a fair trial.
