JEREMY Corbyn has posted a video responding to hilarious mean tweets about him from the British public.

The Labour leader was mocked for wearing a “commie hat”, called an “absolute moby” and criticised about his “magic money tree”.

Jeremy Corbyn was taken aback when a user said he was the opposite of a “kindly magic grandpa”

The video was posted on Twitter on Monday, and mimicked a style of video made famous by US chat show host Jimmy Kimmel, where celebrities and politicians are asked to read and respond to “mean tweets” about themselves.

One user said of Mr Corbyn: “I’ll bet Jeremy Corbyn will be glad when this election is over so he can go back to wearing his commie hat”.

The Labour leader shouted to the camera: “What is a commie hat? I wear a cap!

“It’s a bit like when I was told I was riding a Maoist bicycle. It’s a bicycle!”

Another social media user tweeted: “Jeremy Corbyn isn’t some kind of kindly magic Grandpa. Quite the opposite in fact.”

Mr Corbyn quietly responded: “Wow.”

In the strangest part of the video, the Labour boss winced as he read a tweet from an alleged admirer: “Anyone else started to find Jeremy Corbyn really sexy?”

The clip finished with a tweet that read: “Who even is Jeremy Corbyn?”

The Labour leader high-fived someone off camera and said: “The next prime minister.”

With only two days before polls open, Boris Johnson fought Mr Corbyn for social media attention last night, posting his own video on Twitter, titled: “Brexit, actually.”

The PM based the video on a famous scene from Hugh Grant’s Christmas classic Love, Actually, where a man declares his love for a woman outside her front door by writing messages on cards that he holds.

Instead of the usual romantic messages, the Tory leader wrote: “With any luck, by next year.

“We’ll have Brexit done.

“And we can move on.

“But for now let me say.

“Your vote has never been more important.”

Mr Johnson’s video has been viewed 2.3 million times, while Mr Corbyn’s has been seen 1.9 million times.
